Residential

Four reasons we’re the most trusted company for residential waterproofing and foundation repair

1
Every inspector in our company shares many characteristics, but two are essential.

First, every inspector is a homeowner themselves. They have dealt with many of the issues you have dealt with and they possess empathy for the situation you are in. They will treat you as they would like to be treated as if your home were theirs.

2
Every inspector is a Nationally-Certified Foundation Repair Specialist.

This means that they had at least two years of experience in the industry before they were allowed to apply for Certification. They were required to take a four-hour exam which certifies their knowledge of the common and advanced techniques, theory and terminology of the foundation repair industry.

3
When we inspect your home, we are not only looking for what needs to happen to repair your home.

We are also looking for what CAUSED the foundation failure or issue at hand. Only by addressing the cause are you able to provide long-lasting repairs. Your inspector will discuss their findings with you personally after their inspection.

4
We will never use sales techniques intended to pressure you to buy our products or utilize our services.

We inspect your home, discuss our findings, present you with an estimate that includes the price of each individual item we recommend and then ensure that you have our contact information. We will give you a follow-up call to make sure you don’t have any questions, but after that, it is up to you to contact us to let us know you want the job done. We, as homeowners, don’t like pressure techniques… so we don’t use them on you! We, as homeowners, don’t like “10% off if you sign today” techniques. We feel that you need some time to digest the information and make an informed decision. So we don’t use pricing details to pressure you. We realize we might sell more if we pressured you. We realize we might be more profitable if we pressure you. But at some point in the evolution of a company, the owners have to decide what they stand for, what their corporate environment will be, and how you will be treated as our client. We made the decision that we want you to be treated as we would like to be treated, and we are willing to live with the positive and negative consequences of our decision.

Foundation Repair

Are you noticing cracks in your brickwork or inside of your home?  Do gaps seem to be forming around doorways or windows where you haven’t seen them before? First of all, don’t panic. Just give us a call. Whether your home is built on a slab foundation or a conventional (crawlspace) foundation, our technicians will come and assess your unique situation.  We will guide you to the best solution to preserve the footprint of your home. Our patented and guaranteed Stabilipier Installation (to lift exterior walls back into place) is one of the many options we can provide to fix issues that you are having.

Basement Repair

Basements are often problematic for many reasons that vary from region to region depending on soil type, climate and building techniques. Many companies utilize a “one technique fits all” approach that is a recipe for disaster. Our basement repair techniques are customized based on the stresses encountered in each individual structure so that repairs are long-lived and cost-efficient.

House Leveling

House-Leveling is an essential component for having a sturdy base in a house. When all areas of the house share the weight equally, there is no one place handling all of the pressure, meaning no chance of collapse in any area. The major component of house-leveling is shoring. Shoring is the method of supporting a building or structure by placing metal props underneath a building when in danger of collapse or during repair or alterations. This guarantees equal weight distribution and guarantees your house a more secure foundation.

Water Management

In the south, with the exception of Texas and parts of Louisiana and Southern Mississippi, most foundation damage and subsequent failures are in some way related to soil moisture content. American Standard Foundation Repair is committed to the prevention of such issues. This often requires a water management plan around structures beginning to develop signs of foundation movement. This may include drainage systems, sub-soil water barriers, sump pumps, retaining walls as well as grading and erosion control.

Wall Anchoring

A properly installed retaining wall will always include a draining plan to relieve hydrostatic pressure behind the wall. Without such a plan, most retaining walls experience failure relatively quickly. If such a failure occurs, drainage plans and wall anchoring may be used to prolong the life of the current retaining wall if it is structurally sound.

Wood Damage (termites, water, rot, mold, fungi)

No matter where you live, wood-eating pests of many varieties are encountered and cause billions of dollars in damage annually in the United States. If there are water and humidity issues under the structure, mold and fungi which utilize the cellulose in the structural wood members as food, also cause untold millions of dollars of damage each year in the United States. We can repair damage caused by insects, water, mold and fungi. We can treat mold and fungi. We are not licensed to treat insects, but can recommend companies that do should the need arise.

Crawl Space Encapsulation

Crawlspace Encapsulation is a technique by which the space under a conventional pier and beam foundation structure can be treated to improve air quality in the structure, insulate the space to increase the cost effectiveness of the structure and decrease the incident of insects, mold and fungi under the structure… all in one repair! This repair transforms such spaces by dehumidification which makes the space inhospitable to insects, mold and fungi, insulates the stem walls which will keep the floor above at a relatively constant temperature throughout the year and provides a clean area that can therefore be utilized as storage space.

Concrete Work

American Standard Foundation Repair performs concrete work of virtually any type with employees that have decades of experience in providing both structural and cosmetic repair. Whether you need a new driveway or sidewalk, a foundation poured or a spillway for a retaining pond, we have people with the experience to get it done properly.
